Julie Sharp is Executive Vice President of Tax Credit Equity at Merchants Capital, a leading national multifamily financing firm that has deployed over $50 billion in FHA, balance sheet, and GSE debt, and $3 billion in tax credit equity to support affordable and workforce housing across the United States.
Ms. Sharp launched and leads Merchants’ tax credit syndication platform, which she established in 2020. Under her leadership, the platform has grown inro a national business with $3 billion in equity under management, offering multi-investor, proprietary, and state tax credit fund solutions.
A committed industry leader and advocate for affordable housing, Ms. Sharp serves as Secretary and a member of the Board’s Executive Committee for the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) in Washington, D.C. She is also a mentor with the Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative in Chicago, supporting the next generation of women leaders in the industry.
Ms. Sharp’s contributions have been widely recognized industrywide: she was named a 2024 Women of Influence by the Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ), received the Young Leaders Award from Affordable Housing Finance in 2024, and was honored as one of IBJ’s Forty Under 40 in 2025. She also sits on the Executive Board for the Miller College of Business at Ball State University, her alma mater.
