Michael Larsen

Michael Larsen serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Merchants Capital, where he oversees capital allocation and investment strategy across all business lines. Mr. Larsen also leads Merchants’ Investment Real Estate division, which delivers financing solutions for both market rate and affordable multifamily housing, as well as healthcare properties through its affiliate, Merchants Bank. Prior to his current role, Mr. Larsen was the company’s Chief Financial Officer. He is based in the Merchants Capital’s New York office.

He most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer at Lument, a leading agency lender. In these roles, Mr. Larsen provided executive leadership for all aspects of real estate lending and investment management for a platform with $16 billion in annual volume and $50 billion in assets under management.

Prior to that, Mr. Larsen was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Hunt Real Estate Capital and Centerline Capital Group, a publicly traded mortgage banking and investment management company. He began his career in real estate consulting and structured finance practices at Arthur Andersen.

Mr. Larsen is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) and the National Multi-Family Housing Council (NMHC). He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University.
