Michael Dury

Michael Dury serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at Merchants Capital, overseeing all multifamily and healthcare platforms for Merchants Bancorp. Mr. Dury joined Merchants Capital in 2007 and has held various positions within the firm, including Investment Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer in 2018.

Under Mr. Dury’s leadership, Merchants Capital has grown from a small FHA lender to a nationally recognized full-service debt and equity provider. He is a member of the executive management team at Merchants Bancorp and has been key to the company’s growth and eventual initial public offering in 2017. Merchants Bancorp has experienced record growth in recent years with a current market capitalization of approximately $2.5 billion, total assets over $20 billion, and industry recognition by S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2024 as a top performing public U.S. bank with more than $10 billion in assets.

Mr. Dury is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance Board of Governors (COMBOG) and was selected as a Future Leader by the MBA. He was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s (IBJ) Forty Under 40 list, which recognizes business leaders who have achieved success and excelled in their field before the age of 40. Mr. Dury was also a 2026 IBJ Indiana 250 honoree, listed among the most influential and impactful leaders in Indiana across business, philanthropy, the arts, government and not-for-profits. He was a recipient of the 2020 Indy’s Best and Brightest award presented by Junior Achievement in the banking and financial services industry. Mr. Dury sits on the corporate work study board of directors at Providence Cristo Rey High School and was awarded the John C. Lechleiter Award for his dedication.

He holds an undergraduate degree from The University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
